We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to join our established team overseeing planned maintenance and responsive and works and projects on English Heritage sites across Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Oxfordshire. This is a hands-on, client-facing role where communication, organisation, and pride in workmanship are just as important as technical knowledge.

You will be head office based with regular travel to English Heritage sites. Working closely with our Contracts Managers and English Heritage representatives, design teams, Subcontractors, and our own skilled craftspeople, you will play a key role in ensuring cyclical work and projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the exceptionally high standards for which Moulding is known.

Your role

As the English Heritage Site Manager for Lots 15 & 16 within our team, you will oversee multiple projects and support maintenance works from initial site setup through to successful completion. You will ensure all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards, with exceptional attention to detail.

This role will involve managing maintenance works and projects across approximately 60 historic sites in Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Oxfordshire. Working closely with our English Heritage Lots 15 & 16 Contracts Managers and our experienced trades team, you will coordinate day-to-day site operations, monitor health and safety compliance, maintain project programmes, uphold quality standards, and ensure the client receives a professional and positive experience throughout every stage of the project.

The role is hands-on when required, and you will occasionally assist with trade tasks to support the wider team and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Health & Safety Awareness: To ensure we manage our sites safely and protect our team’s health, including managing and ensuring CDM 2015 and Risk Assessment & Method Statement (RAMS) compliance. Knowledge of all relevant Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) legislation with regards to statutory compliance. Establishment of a site safety culture, ensuring the use of Protective Personal Equipment (PPE) and safety equipment and conducting site inspections. Lead site inductions, toolbox talks and briefings. Ensuring all documentation related to SHE is completed regularly, kept up to date and filed securely
  • Project Scheduling & Planning: To organise and manage site activities with regard to the sequencing of activities and the use of labour, plant, equipment and tools in line with project information and the construction programme. Monitor progress to ensure milestones are met
  • Site Management: To manage day to day operations on site, controlling site logistics such as labour, plant and materials and supervising accredited Subcontractors. Work with Head of Resource & Operations to ensure appropriate skills are available at the right time. Consult with Subcontractors to gather their specialist input into the programme. Manage and maintain the site to a high standard and to ensure that all team members, including Subcontractors, conduct themselves appropriately at all times.
  • Quality Control: To manage the quality of workmanship of the team onsite to maintain the very highest of standards; including regular site inspections of work to ensure it meets technical specifications, building regulations and quality standards
  • Commercial Awareness: To manage labour, plant, equipment, tools and ordering of materials to ensure all project tasks are completed efficiently and cost-effectively, meeting all compliance standards and demonstrating value to our clients
  • Communication & Reporting: To maintain excellent levels of clear communication with Contracts Manager, clients, their representatives and design teams throughout the project. Contribute proactively in meetings to report on progress, address risks and resolve any on-site challenges to ensure milestones and quality standards are met
  • Site Setup & Security: To set up site, including welfare facilities, fencing and safety signage. Maintain site security and conduct site inductions

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Multi-Trade tradesperson to join our established team who are currently responsible for supporting our English Heritage contract; and for delivering routine cyclical and planned maintenance, response and project works across English Heritage sites covering Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire & Herefordshire.

Our highly skilled team carries out maintenance works to English Heritage sites ranging from Stonehenge through to Wigmore Castle. Our cyclical works include ensuring the safety of sites by undertaking periodic inspections of items such as timber, masonry and roof coverings. In addition, our team, sometimes with the support of accredited specialist Subcontractors, work on a variety of response and special project works delivering solutions for more complex issues.

Role Overview

We have an opportunity for an experienced Multi-Trade tradesperson with a background in building to join our experienced dedicated team.  This hands-on role will work within our experienced Multi-Trade team managed by a very experienced Site Manager. It will involve cyclical maintenance and response work on prestigious historic sites across Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire & Herefordshire. The work will include general repairs e.g. to fencing & gates, cleaning, painting, drainage, masonry, roofing and work to rainwater goods; including ladder work (working at height training will be provided).

You will need to be an excellent team player with a collaborative approach and have a passion to play a key part in the maintenance of some of English Heritage’s finest sites Including: Stonehenge, Goodrich Castle, Farleigh Hungerford Castle, Hailes Abbey and Donnington Castle.

Requirements:

  • Health, safety and environment awareness: A current & valid CSCS Card is required (Support can be provided to obtain this if required), and work will be carried out according to RAMS provided
  • A passion for historical sites: An appreciation and desire for delivering the highest quality of traditional workmanship and customer service
  • Willingness to travel: This is essential as travel to English Heritage sites across Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire & Herefordshire is required (potential company van share with colleague may be arranged)

Standard working week is 39 hours per week working from 8:00am to 4:30pm, with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break, Monday to Thursday and a 3:30pm finish on Fridays. Additional hours may be available depending on workload.

Painter and Decorator – Site Based

We are looking to recruit exceptional Painters & Decorators to join our expanding team to help deliver a wide range of high-end residential projects from large multi-million-pound country house schemes and new builds to smaller high quality residential refurbishments, extensions and maintenance contracts.

We are looking to recruit hard working experienced Painters & Decorators who share in our ethos of delivering exceptional service and commitment to excellence, and who are excellent team players and want to play a key part in our continued growth.

Essential:

  • Current & valid CSCS Card
  • Experience of painting and decorating in private domestic environments with a passion for delivering the highest quality of customer service and workmanship
  • Full driving licence (endorsements to be disclosed) as to travel to sites is required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team

Desirable:

  • NVQ2, City and Guilds or equivalent qualification desirable although substantiated experience in similar role can be considered as alternative to formal qualification
  • Working knowledge of site Health & Safety procedures would be an advantage but is not essential as training will be provided.
