Alterations, extensions, repairs and improvements to a Grade II Listed country house
formerly The Old Rectory
Contract Administrator: Knight Frank
Complete restoration, significant internal alteration and improvements to a Classical 18th century Grade II Listed former rectory including complete renewal of all mechanical and electrical services; a new single storey kitchen extension on the north in formal ashlar local Greensand stone; a two-storey extension to create additional bedrooms and utility space in coursed rubble Greensand stone.
High level roof repairs were essential, including replacement windows and doors in matching detail and the rebuilding of two large chimney stacks in dressed Chicksgrove stone. New floors throughout included a gentle and complimentary mixture of local stone, elm and oak, and work included the re-laying of the historic stone floor in the kitchen.
High quality bespoke cabinetry was manufactured and installed to create a traditional and stylish kitchen, larder and boot room. Five new bathrooms were created, each of which with new bespoke vanity units, high quality sanitary ware and tiled surfaces. Complete redecoration and a sophisticated, yet traditional style of interior soft furnishings have created the perfect country house.
“The Renovation project of our house took a year. We were fortunate enough to have an excellent and experienced team from Mouldings made up of local craftsmen who shared an enthusiasm for the work involved. As a firm Mouldings have a genuine love of old buildings and understand the importance of detail and getting things right for the client. Integrity and a sense of humour throughout the project helped to make it a fun and enjoyable experience.’’’
