Strip, repair and re-cover the west end roofs to the Nave and Nave Aisles.
This was followed by a sensitive restoration of the Chancel and Chancel Aisles
to bring back the William Butterfield original design that had been covered over
with later decorations. This involved erecting internal scaffolding
to a height of 12.0m in order to redecorate the ceilings, carry out repairs to walls
and then install a new lighting system. Chancel and Chancel Aisle roofs were stripped
and restored with Cornish Delabole Cornish roofing slate
under the cover of a temporary scaffold roof.
