A new chapter: Moulding becomes employee-owned
April 2026
Since 1798, Moulding has been shaped by one family’s commitment to craftsmanship, quality, and the people who make it all possible. In November 2025, we took what feels like the most natural step in that long journey – and passed ownership of the business to the people at the heart of it.
In November 2025, we formally completed our transition to an Employee Ownership Trust, meaning that Moulding’s future now belongs to our 100-strong team – the people who live our values every day on site and in the office.
Why employee ownership?
With eight generations of family ownership behind us, succession has always been something we take seriously. When it became clear that no family members wished to continue as owners, we knew we needed a plan that would protect what makes Moulding who we are: our values, our culture, and above all, our people.
We considered several routes, including selling the business. But any sale carried the risk of changing the things we’ve spent over two centuries building. Employee ownership offered a way to honour our history while securing our independence for the future.
After 227 years and eight generations of family stewardship, this transition feels like the most natural next chapter. Every person at Moulding has contributed to who we are – now they have a genuine stake in who we become.
~ Tim Moulding, Managing Director
What does this mean in practice?
Ownership of the business has transferred to a Trust, held on behalf of all employees.
A Trust Board acts as a guardian, ensuring Moulding is always run in the best interests of the team. As the company grows and performs well, employees will share in that success through tax-free, performance-related bonuses.
Importantly, nothing changes in how we work or who leads us. Tim Moulding continues as Managing Director, and our Leadership Team remains in place. The exceptional quality, relationships, and care that our clients rely on will continue exactly as before – only now, the whole team has a direct stake in delivering it.
Looking ahead
Several months into our new chapter, the feeling across the business is one of pride and purpose. Tim has been visiting sites and talking directly with the team about what employee ownership means – not just in terms of financial reward, but in terms of shared identity and responsibility.
This is more than a structural change. It’s a statement of who we are and what we believe – that the best businesses are built by people who are invested in their work, their colleagues, and their craft. We’ve always believed that at Moulding. Now it’s official.
We’re excited about what this next chapter holds, and we’re grateful to every member of the team, past and present, who has made this moment possible.
